Washington and New York are tied at 14-2. Head to head was split. Both 5-1 in Division. New York 11-1 in conference and Washington 10-2. Yet Washington wins the division. Am I missing something?

I agree with voegma that this particular tiebreaker really sucks. I think the NFL rules committee instituted the "common opponents" for division titles back at the AFL-NFL merger. Or sometime during the mid seventies. I think it was a similar occurrence last season with GB/Detroit and why Flamestrike left the MFN. But it didn't involve the #1 seed and home field advantage. Anyways, a sucky ticky tacky rule.
For what it is worth voegma, I would still consider you and your G-men the NFC favorite once again and the smart money would agree!
